What is dry cupping?

Dry cupping is a popular treatment method where cups are used to suction an area of your body on dry skin.

 

How is dry cupping done?

Your skilled provider will determine which specific areas to target for your individual needs.

They will then apply sterilised cups to your dry skin to create a suction effect in the area.

These are the 3 techniques your provider may use independently or in combination with each other:

  • Stationary cupping: The cups are placed in one location and stay there for a sustained period to help focus on the deeper layers of tissue.
  • Moving cupping: This technique allows the provider to move the cups over your skin with suction creating a wave-like effect that allows them to target both superficial and deep tissues.
  • Lift-and-release cupping: This technique allows the provider to use the cup in a pump-like manner to facilitate quick changes in hydration, tension, and pliability of the tissue.
